The capacity of both cinemas was increased and their existing shells extensively re-modelled. Projection facilities were relocated, resulting in larger overall capacities while an integrated service strategy improved visitor comfort. New ramped floors allowed step-free access to all areas.

The articulated geometry of wall and ceiling panels allows speakers, lighting and services to be fully integrated and to fine-tune acoustic performance. This allows the spaces to function as cinemas, auditoria or stages for presentations and discussion. Further interventions included the treament of selected public areas: the main reception, bookshop, cafe and the under-used rear entrance of the building.
