Flagship Building in Ginza, Tokyo

The flagship building is designed to house a luxury fashion brand with a store on the first 3 floors and office on the upper floors. The building covers the entire plot of the site in Ginza, and extends over six upper floors.

The building’s facade is made from vertical ceramic elements, arranged in an irregular pattern to control natural light and privacy. The earthen colour relates to the brand’s identity and also to process of making the ceramic pieces.

The lighting scheme redraws the geometry of the facade and brings out its tectonics when illuminated at night.
